This historic barn was built in the 1880s using traditional peg and beam construction. The barn is an inspiring agricultural cathedral, which has been lovingly restored into my home and art studio and several unique apartments. It is surrounded with gardens and fruit trees. There are wonderful places nearby to walk, run, hike, or bike, and it is only a short drive to Ithaca, Cornell, Cayuga Lake, and the ski slopes at Greek Peak.
Our goal has been to remain true to the heritage of the barn while blending the traditional with contemporary design elements.
Nestled on 12 acres, including a ½ acre pond, with outstanding views and bordering state-owned land, Bread and Butter Barn is located near the towns of Dryden,Ithaca, and Cortland in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.
The property borders Robinson Hollow State Forest and is not far from Hammond Hill State Forest.
Bread and Butter barn is conveniently accessible from the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York City areas (see map on “Contact Us” page).
